  • I wish the message from the vet about picking up Petey was about him still being alive instead of his ashes. :(

I hope you have good memories of Petey.
My cat, Mew, has finally felt secure enough after three years to let me pet her.

I remember having to do that for my little dog, Leela. It is very very sad, Markness. Thinking of you and Petey. 💚

I hate the feeling of not knowing where my stuff is.

Generally I find the missing item(s) when I figure out where I was when
I way too casually put it/them down. Or trace out where it/they got knocked
down by one of the cats.

Frequently I put things in places that I always know. But sometimes my spouse moves things and then I am lost.
I still think about Petey and how he’s not here anymore. :(

It's been more than a year and talking about K still makes me cry.
My cat might be dying. :(

With some potential exceptions, all who live are also concurrently dying.

Cherishing the times we had and making the most of the time we do have is the best way to honor the precious gift of life, ours, and those connected to ours.

You could take him to the vet, see if there's better medication for him
than the stuff he had previously. Liquid, instead of pills.
I can’t forgive those who’ve wronged me here.

I did try to let go and forgive before but they said that's "playground logic"

You can forgive and also never see them again if you can ever bring yourself to in the future.. I'm not saying it's easy, I naturally hold grudges. Sometimes the best I can do is not think about them.

They sound like they're projecting with the "playground logic" 😂
Why do other people tell me they don’t want me to be in a relationship?

Why do you not ask them?

Why do you assume they do not want you in a relationship?

Why is this one of your "Top 10" complaints?

    @Markness
How do you expect people here on this forum to be mind readers ?

Wouldn't it be more informative to put the question to whoever it is
gives you the impression that you aren't ready for a relationship?

We don't know what "other people" are saying- or thinking about you. Though I could speculate that those in your immediate social orbit have a prejudice in how they interpret your autism, that in their minds you are not suitable to sustain a romantic relationship with anyone. With emphasis on the definition of "prejudice".
I can’t fight against my feelings of not having a girlfriend at my age. :(

@jsilver256 I don’t want to be single for the remainder of my life. That’s what makes me different than those people.
    jsilver256

Yeah, but you seem to take it past "want," you seem to think that your worth is measured by whether or not you're in a relationship. My point in sharing these people is that your worth isn't defined by your relationship status.

    @Markness
You're right. There's no point in fighting against the feelings
generated by what you tell yourself.

It would be useful to stop telling yourself the story of how terrible
it is to not have a girlfriend.

    That story makes you unhappy.
And while you'd prefer having a gf, it's not a situation wherein it's
necessary to continually tell yourself how awfully terrible it is.
A patron having trouble with her kids asked me if I had any myself. I said that I didn’t and only have nieces as well as nephews. To her, that counted. I still found her question to be thorny, though, because it once again reminded me of what I don’t have in my life. :(

You couldn't see yourself in as positive a light
as the person at work saw you.

You accept negative labeling as appropriate by
applying the *poor me I lack what others have* point of view
    to yourself.

Hey Markness do you have a way to do voice calls online? If so, and if you wanna talk, I think I have a little time this evening.
    Gerontius
    Gerontius
I see your posts and they are kind of worrisome because it looks like the situation isn't getting better really, and if you want other people to talk with who either could listen or help with brainstorming, it would be an honor to help check in.
Is it my mother’s fault that I don’t have a girlfriend?

How would it be her fault that you don't?
How would it be to her credit if you did?

    How does that work, anyway?
    I missed an appointment.

Do you usually have a phone with you, and if so, have you considered using the calendar function on it?
You can set multiple reminder alerts - so for example if you'd need to leave home by 4:00 to make it, you could set a reminder for the morning of, and another one for 3:00 or 3:30 so to give time to prep to go, in case you're in the middle of something else.

If you're going to a concert/comic book show/etc., how do you remember that? Like VictorR said, use your phone and set reminders.

You have received enough constructive advice in recent years to write your own Book of Proverbs, yet you criticize or ignore every piece of advice you have been given.
My alarm clock didn’t go off and I’ve missed the first thirty minutes of the work meeting. One of my eyes is also bloodshot. EDIT: The building was locked up and my call was never answered.
I feel hatred directed at me.

I believe that at times like this past weekend. Then I realize the past few days the people who care for me. Then I get a response back from a friend who did not forget about me.

Then lose what you don't need.

Lose what weighs you down and keeps you from moving forward. Then you will start winning. Think of a boat; if there's too much weight on the boat it will start to sink. So lose whatever's weighing you down and you'll keep floating on the surface.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, but does not end there! Half-hearted efforts at self-improvement are doomed to failure. Those who go the full distance are no longer losers, they are winners.
