I mow the fields where i live too, i love it (riding mower). I also love to learn about edible 'weeds' like dandelions, wild violets ... a friend told me he knew a woman who could make a huge salad just out of the weeds when they would go camping. I don't want to go camping (ha) but i want to...

    Deciding to be single

For me, I was more lonely in a relationship than these 10 years single. . What might have tripped me up before was thinking a relationship would make me not be lonely, i was wrong. Now, I can come and go as I please and be friends with whomever I want and like, eat, sleep, dress, dance, do my...

    Deciding to be single

Me too. But I have been married and divorced several times...each time I felt like iron bars came around me and i could no longer just be me.. have my down time and had so much expected of me. These men were not assholes or abusive, they were kind enough, but for me too needy. So for 10 years i...

At what point do you make your exit after a conversation?

haha--> bla bla bla.. that's what i hear too. :grinning: I agree about learning a way to speak ..that i need to go now.. in a polite way. But when I try i start fumbling i feel rude and it's like the words dont' want to come out in an elegant way.. it feels fakey. . . but i guess that's better...

At what point do you make your exit after a conversation?

I suppose the two people I live with are in my life the most, but this has been an issue probably my whole life, though I wasn't aware of it until i got older and a friend would say something. It's more of a problem w/my housemates, and especially the new one. But, I think you are right.. it is...

At what point do you make your exit after a conversation?

yes! .... i know this..i do the same! thanks for responding..it is so helpful to see this and all the others replies... the feeling of being understood is of great benefit, and sometimes i can't quite put into words what is happening or what i'm feeling.... and then someone else (here) does it...

At what point do you make your exit after a conversation?

thanks..i agree and will actually try this.. however i feel like the words won't easily flow out because it feels so 'fakey' haha It's like i need to just say a lot more words that relate my upcoming departure. haha But i suppose we walk a fine line of using the NT scripts or just being...

At what point do you make your exit after a conversation?

i feel the same!!!... so these concepts can only takes me so far and then become meaningless and confusing In fact most things a NT therapist would tell me.. it would crumble in my brain into a million pieces and be meaningless.

At what point do you make your exit after a conversation?

i think what you're saying is similar to the philosophy of Stoicism.. not letting others upset us or let them change who we are to please them (?) doing what we need to do. What is being a jerk really mean? That it is offending others? But isn't that their responsibility on some level, how THEY...

At what point do you make your exit after a conversation?

Though I've been told so many times, that I just walk away in the middle of a conversation, I never understood this. To me, we stopped talking, the conversation is over and we go about our day. Now I live w/2 housemates that are very kind and get a long well, but they tell me i just 'leave'. I...

see colors with days of the week and months

It's so comforting to hear others have similar experiences with colors. Thanks for replying i learned a lot. I love sea-green with pastel purple (sort of violet) together. When i finally got to live on my own i painted my cupboards with these colors (stenciled) it made me so happy.

see colors with days of the week and months

Has anyone else unknowingly assigned colors to each day of the week or months of the year? Monday is a sort of dark red, Tues is cobalt blue, Wed is mustard yellow... Also when going into shops do the colors almost seem 'loud'? like too many colors feels like too much noise? I'm an artist, i...

    I'm 50!

I understand and have felt this way too. I don't know what you're medical issues are about but there is a lot we can do to help our health. I have had a few medical issues that I cured and/or helped by going in nature a lot, creating an environment that supports me, taking up drawing and...
