Two future cribbage boards.

Two future cribbage boards.

Beautiful blueish grained Japanese zelkova.
I love cribbage - play it 2-3 times a week with friends. Have also analyzed the heck out of it and made spreadsheets full of cribbage trivia. E.g.:
A 5 - or any cards that add up to five - in a hand guarantees at least two points in that hand.
The only hand that can't be improved by a starter card is four aces.
No matter what you hold or throw in the crib, it's always possible to get a 12-point crib.

I cut these with just a chainsaw and a splitting maul, they look so much more beautiful in person. I'm not sure if sanding and clear coating will make it look better or worse. I guess I'll do one of each. They still need to dry out for 4-6 months and they still could crack.
