Note the dark blowby, scuffing and scoring on the side of this piston.
Typically, they only last about 4 or 5 passes (4-5000 feet)before they are scrapped

Looks like it's not blowby that burns the piston ring, but crankcase gas that leans the mixture out - "blowback". Need to add a little fuel to the crankcase gas.
