Weapons of Mass Destruction

A ballistic missile,
Is somewhat fissile,
But mostly it's fusion it uses.
A two stage device,
Is really quite nice,
It's what the scientist chooses.

The Soviets and US,
Tried to progress,
A one stage device at first.
But Teller and Ulam,
And those before 'em,
Said this made a better airburst.

And so the kilotons,
Turned to Mega ones,
And all these devices got smaller,
Pop a bunch in one missile,
And innocently whistle,
At killing more people per dollar.

Yet who will decry,
The use of AI,
When the dangers may well be as big.
And the risks we run,
As we race to the sun,
Make us our own guinea pig.

Musks and Zuckerbergs,
Swim in a sea of turds,
And only want to up their game.
While they've already gained,
What from us they have drained,
They're looking for more of the same.

So however cool,
Is an AI tool,
Be careful to think things through.
Are you thinking the best,
For yourself, or the rest,
Is it something you ought to eschew?

It's done for profit,
Not just to cosset,
And help you improve your life.
They already lie,
'Bout that dream in the sky,
It will only lead to more strife.

The costs are all hidden,
The risks unbidden,
But of one thing you can be sure.
It's to give them more gain,
At the price of your pain,
All sold with a false allure.
