Today's Blog

So I sent off my Niece's birthday gift to London, England yesterday, she's 8 next week, bought a small toy from Argos, worth a tenner, and because of the long box, they wouldn't send it Royal Mail so I had to use Parcel Force signed for service, which would be a pain in the ass for my Brother and my Sister in law in London who are both never in because they work full time and take the kids to school and places.

The postage cost me £10.30, about 40p more than the item was worth., don't get me wrong I don't begrudge our Lauren the gift, it's her birthday and I'm simply playing the devoted Uncle, but expensive postage? Eh?

Also, I bought my nephew, who's 11 3 weeks later on the 7th of February, a NERF gun, turns out he's already got the particular gun I bought so I need to take it back and exchange it for a similar present of equivalent value.

OK my knowledge of the UK Sale of Goods Act or whatever it's known as now is about 20 years out of date, but Argos should still take it back if it's unopened and I go armed with the receipt.

At least I tried, I bought the 2 gifts even though I have to take 1 back.

Plus I got 13 out of 20 on the quiz last night, not that I can claim all the credit for that, I did crib the majority of the answers from my Uncle's quiz sheet.

I had a slight panic as well last night, feeling round in my Wallet I thought I'd lost my Bank card, so I rang Mum to report it, then 5 minutes later I found it in the bottom of my bag loose! Panic over, I don't need to phone the Bank to cancel and then wait 5 working days for a new card.

And finally, I managed to complete most of the work on a Photoshop project on my course this morning, I was quite pleased about that.

I also managed to speak to a guy at Aspire Sheffield, a computer shop next door tohere I do my course about their employment courses for the disabled (see my topic in the education and employment section).
