To Know or Not to Know (or When to Know or Not Know)

By Emily Canafax · Mar 9, 2019 · ·
  1. Do you think your child should know at a very young age if they have ASD? Should they need to seek their truth on their own? Will the world change in time to create a safer place for the teased, bullied, and take advantage of students and adults in the future (hopefully near)? I'm seeking all perspectives, please.

Hi; I'm Emily. I live in the Bay Area and have been here since I'm 12. I grew up in Bloomington, MN, and still miss it. I love to work hard, I have a poor understanding about what's so great about money, and the NFL is basically my religion.

I'd like to know too Emily. My boy has just been diagnosed at 9 with ADHD and HFA. I'm wondering how and when I broach the subject with him... would love to hear some thoughts.
