This week's Blog stuff

So I had a bid going on eBay for £32 for Soul Calibur 6 on Xbox, I was winning right up to literally 5 seconds left of the bid, eh?

Annoying when people wait till literally the last second to outbid me!

In better news, I have a trial day booked volunteering at the new Sue Ryder Charity shop on Tuesday, by rights it should be a paid job, but they said last week that "my answers to the telephone interview weren't 'in depth' enough" whatever that means, I got pretty much the same answer when I got to the interview stage for South Yorkshire Police Special Constables in August 2011.

I guess I suck at interviews, I had several last year for Agency positions and never got the jobs, but they were all full time anyway and for personal and financial reasons I cannot work 40 hours a week, mainly because the government would take great delight in sanctioning the crap out of me for working more than the maximum 16 hours a week on ESA.

Anyway at least they're willing for me to work for free, which is better than nothing, although regarding the whole working in a Charity shop for free thing, I've been there, done that and literally worn the T shirt in some cases.

But if it's the only way I'll ever work, I have to do it for my own sanity.

At least next year I can start back looking at paid work once I've had my cataracts done.

Trouble is, by February/March next year I'll be nearly 43, and age related discrimination isn't yet illegal in the UK, should be though IMHO.

And finally, I'm going to extra Taekwondo tomorrow if we get back up to Sheffield from London in time, because I couldn't train tonight, and the Monday and Wednesday sessions last week were cancelled because the instructor was ill, I need the practice and training if he's going to let me grade for green stripe in December, I want a new belt for Christmas!

Right that's all for now.

It IS covered Rich ;)
It's in the equality act along with disability, gender, race and all the other usual things. As we've all discussed before though, just because it's covered in law doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
