Scientists do not agree on how fast Climate Change will affect us, so a range of their estimates is better for the rest of us to get an idea of what they are talking about. Even the most pessimistic estimates of sea level rise, for example, vary a lot on how soon and how much we can expect. Even those most pessimistic scientists looking at climate change keep finding new things that will affect sea level rise. That means the most pessimistic estimates of sea level are going to be lower than what we will actually get. If you live not too far above sea level, you might want to keep swim gear handy.
First I am going to bring you a link of an inteactive page about sea level rise estimates. This will let you see what will happen to different areas of the Earth at a range of sea level rises. Then I will get links about surprise contributions to more sea level rise. I won't necessarily post them here in that order, but will try grouping them that way.
This link is to an interactive sea level rise map of the whole world. It is not working great for my ipad right now, but will probably be fine for others with bette internet access. If you have problems, be sure to let me know inthe comments below this blog post. There are other interactive maps than this one, so I can replace it if necessary. You can change the amount of feet of sea level rise on the map as well as the center of the area shown and the size of the map.
