Humanity should save turtles for a better world for all of us, living in this world.

Aren't those turtles too cute to not to save them from extinction, either through our ignorance continuing our actions that hurt these turtles (like the use of plastic bags without re-using), or by our deliberate choice to destroy turtle environments (like car-centric development with little regard to coastal features, especially turtle habitats)?
Saving the turtles not only helps to maintain the biodiversity we have on our oceans they also promote tourism, educational and scientific research. They all encourage sustainable employment that are socially beneficial in both recessions and booms, and they provide cultural benefits for those communities that value turtles.
Which only makes turtles really, really economically important. In the era of triple bottom line (profit, people and planet), turtles can only add value to all three components of a firm's long-term success. After all, society does form a perception of all firms in the market in some ways or another, and positive actions of a firm to save turtles can save the turtles, motivate employees, and ultimately, add long-term profits. Of course firms have to watch monthly cash flow, to have more money coming in than going out, and maintain the firm in a healthy position to undertake day-to-day operations with ample cash.
To me, turtles are just a tool to the means - concern of the Earth. But turtles are really cute and inspiring enough to all people who care about the environment, even if they do care marginally. Turtles are as worthy as our planet to our man-made heritage and that the panda (another world-famous conservation symbol).
