More about happiness

By Dias · Mar 2, 2019 · ·
  1. Fact: I was afraid to be happy
What??? How can this be? How can anyone sabotage their own happiness?
Well I don't know the intricacies of the thing but I realized today I was doing it.
I only saw my mistakes and bad qualities. But if I really want to be fair I have to see all: good and bad.
And even when I am "bad" I still have the right to be happy. I am not saying to ignore the bad, no, correct it we must, but we still deserve to be happy!
I am not a fan of self punishment to expiate sins but unconsciously that is what I was doing. I punished myself when I did something wrong by depriving myself of the right to be happy.
A Human birth is the greatest gift we can receive and we should honour it by being happy.
I can't believe I am learning this only now!!!
I thought I was so intelligent...

From experience, even though you don't even realise you're doing it, it's often easier to negatively self talk and self sabotage to prove our own bias about ourselves than take the risk and a leap into the unknown and be positive. Personally I have a fear that if I am happy or succeed at something, it has to be balanced out with something going wrong. Just realise that it isn't about being intelligent. It's about our perception of ourselves and habits we form over time. I hope you can manage to overcome this and you've taken the important first step in realising you do it.
