Here's the second entry. Enjoy!

Well, so far I'm going strong. Kudos to anyone who read my last blog! Anyway, here's tonight's entry.

Name: Genie Junior

Type: Animated series

Story: Vincent is an average kid going through a hard time. He just moved to a new neighborhood where he's fodder for the local bully, ignored by his parents, pushed around by his older brother and sister, afraid of his new teachers, and he has no friends of his own. However, when a mysterious package comes to him, containing a fancy bottle, Vincent's life will never be the same again! Hamurad, a young and childlike genie, pops out of the bottle, eager to grant wishes.
Hamurad is dubbed by Vincent as "Gene", and treated as an adopted younger brother to Vincent. It isn't long before Vincent's siblings and the kids at his school find out about Gene, but don't tell the adults about him. Vincent is soon to learn that, although Gene can grant him all kinds of wishes, the greatest magic in his life may come from him, and that sometimes you really have to be careful what you wish for.

Characters:

1. Vincent Bennett: Vincent is the main character in the show. A real low man on the totem pole so to speak, his parents don't understand him, his siblings belittle him, his teachers scare him, and the local bully beats him up. He grows throughout the series, not only learning about the value of other people and the negative consequences of misusing magic, but also becomes braver. He is twelve years old.

2. Gene: The titular character of the series, Gene appears in his natural form to look like an alien in Arabian clothes. He is able to float and to assume the form of an eight-year-old boy. Other than that, though, all of his magic has a nasty habit of wearing off, often at inappropriate times. If that weren't enough, he has the same tendency to misunderstand and misinterpret wishes that always seems to lead to trouble. Gene has a happy and energetic personality, always intrigued by the modern world around him, and wanting to understand it better. He's happy even when Vincent is upset and angry, and tends to bug him.
Most of Gene's magic can't be used unless someone makes a wish while holding his bottle. However, whenever someone does hold it and make a wish, he has to grant it no matter who is holding it. Also, the number of wishes total he can grant is infinite, but he can only grant three each day, leading to added stress and pressure.

3. Fiona: One of the kids at Vincent's school, Fiona loves flowers, bugs, and all kinds of environmentalist things. She has a crush on the local bully, leading to some pretty awkward situations. An only child, she doesn't understand Vincent's feelings of sibling rivalry, but she cares a lot about Vincent, and though she knows about Gene, she'd care about him without a genie.

4. Charles: Vincent's other friend from school, Charles is a rich boy who had to learn money doesn't buy everything when he first arrived at school. He's very attracted to money and a lot of things involved with getting more money, but he considers making money by magic a potential risk. He is often afraid of being seen as a snob, and very likely to use his money to help his friends and other loved ones.

5. Francis: Preferring to be called "Franky", Francis is Vincent's tomboy love interest. She loves a lot of things normally associated with boys than girls, and is angry whenever someone points that out. Vincent is afraid of speaking his feelings around her, and although she doesn't return his feelings, Francis thinks he's "cute". There is an unfortunate age barrier between them, as Francis is seventeen.

6. Margaret: Vincent's older sister, Margaret isn't particularly spiteful, but enjoys taking any opportunity to make fun of or belittle her little brother. She is the middle child, with Harry being the oldest.

7. Harry: Vincent's obese older brother, Harry thinks of himself as a genius even though he's never done anything noteworthy to validate such a claim. Like Margaret, Harry never misses a chance to put Vincent down as long as it's all in good fun.

8. Julius: The local bully, Julius beats Vincent up out of spite, and is always looking to bolster his own self esteem by hurting someone smaller and/or weaker than himself. However, he later becomes friends with Vincent after he uses a wish to Gene to save his life.

Episodes:

1. Pilot: The best kind of magic: Vincent comes to a new school and is miserable. He comes home, wishing he had some friends. He finds a mysterious package sent to him, that contains a genie. Vincent first wishes that he could move faster, and finds the entire world other than him moving SLOWER instead! He then wishes that everything was normal, and as a side-effect, Gene apparently loses his powers. However, this wish wears off. Coincidentally, Fiona and Charles start showing an interest in him, and end up learning about Gene when his magic reappears, and Vincent thinks Fiona and Charles are just the result of another wish that's going to wear off. However, when he finds his test paper changed from a C to an A+, he finds that Fiona and Charles' friendship with him has nothing to do with Gene.

2. Oh brother!: After being pushed around once too often, Vincent wishes that he was bigger than his siblings, and ends up a towering giant! He wants to wish himself back to normal, but Harry sends the bottle to the recycling center, and Fiona and Charles have to get it back before Vincent gets shot down by the military! In wishing to have Vincent back to normal, Fiona reveals the power of the bottle to Margaret and Harry, who then grab the bottle and wish they had a million bucks. As a result, they both find themselves running from a stampede!

3. Bully for you: Vincent wants to use Gene's magic to punish Julius, but Fiona and Charles convince him to wish Julius leave them alone instead. When the magic wears off, Julius finds out about the magic bottle and snatches it away from Vincent, wishing for a monster pet from a movie. The monster grows to titanic size and turns on Julius, threatening his life. Vincent uses the last wish specifically to save Julius' life, and thus earns his respect, though Julius still picks on kids younger than himself.

4. The big breakup: During a heated argument over who should make what wishes why, the magic bottle gets shattered, and Gene is fading fast! Charles is blamed for the shattering. Before he can fade away, Charles wishes that the day started over, and thus the kids try to avoid the argument. However, Fiona accidentally knocks the bottle off a shelf, breaking it. This causes another argument, and Gene is fading away again. Fiona wishes that the genie had another bottle, and Gene is preserved. Vincent believes that he doesn't need Fiona or Charles and tries to hide the bottle away from them, shattering it in the process. Finding out that he was responsible as well, Vincent wishes the three of them never had their argument, and the argument turns out to never have happened.

5. Vincent's crush: Vincent has a crush on an older girl, and wants to use Gene's magic to help him, but unfortunately, everything he tries to wish for doesn't work. First, he wishes he was older, and ends up rapidly aging to senior citizenship. Once that wish wears off, he tries wishing for Francis to be younger instead, and Francis is turned into a toddler! In his third wish, Vincent simply wishes that Francis loved him, but she ends up being too clingy.
