First day back at uni

I found my first gray hair today. I'm turning 31 in a few days. And today's the day I'm going back to university. After dropping out due to depression for the umpteenth time two years ago, I never thought this day would come, yet here it is.

To say I'm nervous is an understatement. I had a fitful night full of weird dreams (including Optimus Prime, who apparently has a personal vendetta against me, turning into a cab and driving me far far away from my university building instead of towards it). I woke up at 3 AM unable to sleep any more. My stomach is churning, my heart is racing. In 2 hours I will have to take a test to prove that I possess the necessary knowledge to graduate as an M.D. I know I easily passed this test three years ago, but that was when I was still fully submerged in the medical world. I've studied for this test, but is it enough? Somehow it never feels like enough.

I pondered starting a blog before, but I felt today would be a good day. Today has the potential to be a turning point in my life (although, to be fair, every day does, doesn't it?) and I'm taking the plunge full of hope (and a smidgen of terror). I hope this blog will have more hope and less terror in the following posts. This is as much a personal journal for me to process the events about to happen as it is a blog, but I hope whomever reads this gets some laughs and positive vibes from it anyway.

11! That's pretty young. I stupidly realized that the grey hair wasn't even mine as it was a very long grey hair and I dye my hair with henna monthly. Just one of my boyfriends' hairs that got on my towel somehow :p

Haha! Yeah it is ridiculously young. Our Mum started going white at 16 and by the time she was 30, her hair was completely white. Mine is pretty bad but ehh I'm not really bothered.

I found my first silver hair at 28 - it took five minutes of staring at it to be sure, lol!
