Banana Sorbet

This sorbet is really easy and tastes good and has a nice texture.

BANANA SORBET

Ingredients:

Bananas

Instructions:

Chop up peeled bananas into chunks that your blender or food processor will handle. Freeze the banana chunks. Put the frozen banana chunks into your blender or food processor. Grind them up to a good consistency. Eat.

You can add other fruit or flavorings to get variety.

Be careful not to let your blender or food processor motor bog down. If it stops grinding, turn it off and scrape banana off of the blade and underneath it. When I made this in a blender, I had to stop before the bananas were completely ground and mash it with a fork.

I have not yet done this, but you could probably grind the frozen banana chunks in a mortar and pestle.

Comments

Frozen pears, peaches, strawberries work.
Sometimes I use a little cooked sweet potato or cooked carrot.

I don't use bananas because I am latex sensitive/allergic.

I love this it's popular with vegans, calling it "nicecream". And it's just bananas!! My mom added cocoa powder once, it was good.

That is a horrible side effect of latex allergies I did not know about.

Hmm....my mom made homemade banana ice-cream with bananas, sugar, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla...ginger can be added too :)
It is strange because the Ice-cream had a bite to it you don't expect, but it is nice! :)...you could use soy milk?

it also is quite good un-frozen as a milkshake with some ice cubes in it to keep it nice and cold...I use less bananas in that and 2 large spoonfuls of brown sugar instead of white sugar. I usually fill the blender with 1 broken up Banana and milk up to the 1 + 1/2 cup mark :)
