This spring I was not watching as much anime. I picked up the T.V show survivor and spent more time on specific titles. I associate these times with sitting down in a gently lit room drinking a LARGE jar of tea. I had some hard days for sure but a sensation of being free, wriggling my way out of depression and being on the path to recovery. Being more in tune with myself.
5. Seton Academy: Join the Pack
100% inappropriate yet I couldn't put it down because it was funny and ridiculous. I couldn't believe they even made a reference to koala baby's eating their mother's poop. I'm here rating this higher than Toilet-bound Hanako-kun because I think this is more exciting and interesting.
4. Adachi and Shimamura
I'm always looking for yuri that I may like, so I try anything and everything. To this day I can't say I've seen a yuri that I really loved. Adachi and Shimamura was something that I liked the more I watched, felt like it was written with some heart and even though it could be considered "boring" I'll likely remember this one. It didn't have the mutual feelings I was desiring to see, but it had other merit to it and was a reprieve from the dramatic shows I was watching.
3. Reborn as a Vending Machine
I think the story was lacking and at times I just had this as a background, but the perspective of the vending machine was interesting to me, as well as his abilities. Maybe I'm obsessed with vending machines too, now. The only other isekai I've seen is So I'm a Spider, so What? which I loved. So I guess I kind of do like level-up isekai! Reborn as a Vending Machine was heart-warming, and not too serious. Season 2 is arriving soon.
2. Attack on Titan Season 1-3
I hadn't seen this since it released in 2013, over 10 years ago! I hadn't seen beyond season 1 so this was a real treat and harken back to my early teenage years. Non-stop chaos, traumatic events, and the mystery that are titans. Attack on Titan has a unique story and visual style that I will miss when it's over. I love the characters, if I had to choose a favorite it would have to be Armin, the blonde on the right. This was a total of 59 episodes but it went by fast unlike some of these 12 episode anime that I keep checking to see if it'll be over soon. (I'll admit)
1. Apothecary Diaries
A new all-time favorite of mine, which I am so happy about because it's been awhile since I've enjoyed an anime that much. The genre is historical fiction, mystery and drama. The "romance" is more comedic and our main character Maomao refreshingly down to earth and is simply obsessed with medicine and poison. She is sometimes by the fanbase thought of as autistic-like or a "gremlin", I find her relatable. Apothecary Diaries is beautiful.
Honorable mentions:
Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun
